Another calendar

There is going to be a short lull in my ship adventures while I have a new knee installed - hopefully soon enough to allow me to sail on Oriana in September as booked!! However, this will also give me time to fully index my photos of the year so far and upload some to Fotolibra.

The introduction of digital cameras has grossly increased the number I take - as I am sure it has with everyone. It is wonderful to keep shooting as you sail past a ship or scenery without having to consider, not just the potential cost of developing them, but also whether you packed enough films!

The downside is what to do with all those images once home. Personally I group them by cruise so I can revisit those lovely days on board, when stuck at home in a British winter. But I also cross index them by place and ship - well ship anyway. Place has yet to come when I have a spare week or three.

I also look for ways for them to be useful and seen, and possibly earn a little upkeep. One way I have explored over the last year is calendars and I have just had my fifth one accepted for publication. With no outlay other than time,  it is very rewarding to know people will actually buy your images.

During my enforced purdah I am not sure much I will be able to post but try and keep your interest in reading my blog - even if it is just a diary of my knee! It will at least be good to catch up on some sleep and hopefully soon be exploring new and far flung places again soon.

Below are a couple of the photos in my new calendar.
